What the job is about

Do you have a keen interest in using Kubernetes? And are you intrigued by everything that goes on in the Cloud? Look no further.

As an SRE, you will have a significant impact on the next generation of our ‘Miles’ Software Solution. It encompasses 2 parts:

The ‘Core’ ERP software for automotive finance, leasing, fleet, and mobility management. This end-to-end solution encompasses -, mid-, and back-office functions.

The complementary ‘Microservices Platform’ with extra functionalities and portals that interacts with the core ERP software. 

Your focus will be on the Microservices Platform, on deploying both the infrastructure and the applications, and managing the platform, both internally as well as for our customers.

This means you will:

• Automate deployments through the GitOps approach.

• Maintain our own Cloud Platform (+ setting up monitoring, logging, ...).

• Automate the setup of Kubernetes Clusters through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / Ansible).

• Write/update automated pipelines in Jenkins or GitHub actions.

• Work closely with the IT team and security team, to overcome network and security issues that might arise.

But it is also important for us that you:

• Advise on and contribute to the shift of legacy components. 

• Research and experiment with modern technologies in this area to keep improving. 

• Help educate customers and colleagues, within the team but also the project teams who are implementing the software.

Your Interest and Skills

What else is expected: 

• You have experience with OR (recently) obtained your Bachelor's/ Master's Degree and are interested in working with,

  the following technologies:

o   Kubernetes (Azure Kubernetes Service or similar Cloud Kubernetes Services like EKS or GKE)

o   Terraform

o   Ansible 

o   Jenkins, GitHub Actions

o   GitOps: FluxCD

o   Helm & Kustomize

o   Monitoring solutions: Prometheus, Grafana, FluentBit & Loki

o   Artifact Registries such as Harbor & Azure Container Registry

o   Docker/ Podman

o   Linux distributions - RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Kafka, HVR, JBoss, Oracle, Java, Python, Bash is a plus. 

• Experience through work or internships with at least one public cloud provider (Azure, AWS, ….) 

• Fluent in English, any other language is a plus.
