When it comes to onboarding at Sofico, we offer a full 6-month program that focusses on training, as well as creating your network within the company and your unit.

General introduction

A curriculum is generated in our Learning Management System (LMS) and is selected specifically for your role. Of course, Sofico also offer several general training courses and information sessions:

  • Leasing and Fleet Management 101: a crash course on our sector.
  • Sofico 101: the history and values of the company.

All new colleagues who will work with our main product, Miles Enterprise, also receive a 5-day Miles Functional training, where you learn what our ERP software entails.

We also look at your personal training needs and your previous knowledge to add some specific training session to your personal curriculum.

Specific training

Other training sessions are tailor-made for Software Engineers, Consultants, Finance .... We also look at your personal training needs and your previous knowledge to add some specific training sessions to your personal curriculum.

Of course, these last two years, most trainings have been made available online. Normally, all new employees come to the Head Office in Ghent, Belgium to attend the Miles Functional Training and the Miles Configuration Training.

Your Job Coach will assist you in expanding your company network and guide you in which colleagues can help you with specific questions.

Coaching

Besides your personalized curriculum, you are assigned a Job Coach during your onboarding period. This is an experienced colleague who works in the same role as you.

As a new starter, your Job Coach is your primary contact person for all your questions but he or she is also the person who will give you assignments to get you up to speed. Your Job Coach will assist you in expanding your company network and guide you in which colleagues can help you with specific questions.

During your onboarding period, there are three feedback moments. One regarding the training process and two with your Job Coach regarding the connection with the job and the company.

Expanding your network within the company has been harder as everyone was working from home, therefore some initiatives were started to help new colleagues meet more people and get integrated. One of those was ‘How's the weather?”. Others include team events, a remote cooking workshop, virtual runs, team lunches, or online gaming.
